Bangladeshi Journalist Delegation Visits Kunming Tongren Hospital to Explore New Opportunities in International Medical Services

On the afternoon of August 8, 2025, as China and Bangladesh celebrated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, a delegation comprising representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh, the Consulate General of Bangladesh in Kunming, Bangladeshi journalists, the Foreign Affairs Office of Yunnan Province, and the Kunming Municipal Health Commission paid a visit to Kunming Tongren Hospital. The visit aimed to deepen Bangladesh’s understanding of China’s medical development and promote healthcare exchanges between the two countries.

At the opening of the event, Vice President Shen Ling delivered a detailed presentation to the visiting journalists, introducing Kunming Tongren Hospital’s comprehensive strengths in medical technology and international medical services. She also highlighted the hospital’s dedicated team of professional interpreters proficient in English and Bengali, who provide language support for Bangladeshi patients. This thoughtful arrangement made the visiting journalists feel warmly welcomed.

Vice President Shen Ling also shared medical cases of Bangladeshi patients who had received treatment at the hospital, together with their heartfelt testimonials and expressions of gratitude. These authentic patient stories fully demonstrated the hospital’s high-quality international medical services and set a positive tone for the in-depth tour that followed.

The press corps conducted an on-site inspection of the hospital’s core functional areas. The journalists first showed great interest in the hospital’s world-leading medical imaging and ultrasound diagnostic equipment. At the Department of Medical Imaging and Department of Ultrasound Medicine, they learned in detail about the pivotal role of these state-of-the-art devices in delivering precise diagnosis and formulating effective treatment plans, and spoke highly of the hospital’s robust technical support capabilities.

Through this in-depth exchange and visit, Kunming Tongren Hospital fully demonstrated its professional expertise and dynamic development as a Grade A Tertiary General Hospital to the visiting Bangladeshi journalists. Taking this successful visit as an opportunity, the hospital will continue to improve the accessibility of its cross-border medical services and remain committed to its goal of building a regional international medical service center based in Yunnan and serving South and Southeast Asia.
